    Biography

    David E. Dodds is currently a Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan and Research Scientist at Telecommunications Research Laboratories (TRLabs) in Saskatoon. David received B. Eng. and M.Sc. degrees from the University of Saskatchewan in 1966 and 1968. He presently teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in electronics and communication theory and also offers industrial short courses on telecommunication systems. Current research interests are in communication electronics for data transmission and for frame synchronization in PCM and spread spectrum systems. He also conducts research in electronic design for fiber optic transmission. He served as a member of the FDDI-II standard committee and he has been granted 11 patents relating to data transmission, telephone line interfacing and optical transmission.

    While on leaves from the University, he has worked with Nortelnetwrks on PBX design, digital transmission and fiber optic transmission standards.

    Mr. Dodds is a Registered Proessional Engineer in Saskatchewan and a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
