     David M. Klymyshyn  B.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., P.Eng.

    Biography

    David M. Klymyshyn received his B.E., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada in 1990, 1995, and 1998, respectively. From 1990 to 1994, Dr. Klymyshyn was with SED Systems (Canada), and in 1995 was with WaveCom Electronics (now Vecima Networks - Canada), where he was involved in the design of various microwave communication systems.

    Currently he is a Research Scientist with TRLabs (Canada), and also has international research collaboration with the Institute for Microstructure Technology, Karlsruher Institut fuer Technologie (KIT), Karlsruhe (Germany), where he is a Visiting Scientist.

    He is also Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan, teaching undergraduate and graduate microwave engineering courses. His research interests include linear and nonlinear microwave/wireless circuits and RF MEMS.

    A current research thrust is advanced microwave devices using synchrotron deep X-ray lithography (XRL). He is the first in Canada to demonstrate high-aspect-ratio RF MEMS coupling, resonant, and reactive structures and also polymer-based dielectric antenna elements fabricated using synchrotron DXRL. He is also leading development of Canada’s first XRL facility (SyLMAND - Synchrotron Laboratory for Micro/Nano Devices), at the Canadian Light Source - one of the largest scientific projects in Canada.
