Biography

Education and Experience

Dr. Lisa R. Feldman is a Professor in the Department of Civil, Geological, and Environmental Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan and Director of the Saskatchewan Centre for Masonry Design. She obtained her B.A.Sc. from the University of Waterloo in 1992, her M.S. from the University of Texas at Austin in 1993, and her Ph.D. from the University of Western Ontario in 2006. Dr. Feldman is a Fellow of the American Concrete Institute and the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering. Dr. Feldman has nine years of engineering consulting experience in addition to her academic work. Notable projects that she has worked on include: the Confederation Bridge, the rehabilitation of Calgary's Centre Street Bridge, and the restoration of Calgary's Old City Hall. Dr. Feldman's research interests include: the mechanics and behavior of reinforced concrete and masonry members and structures, the evaluation and rehabilitation of existing structures, and code calibration. Results of her research work have led to changes in CAN/CSA S304-14 - Design of Masonry Structures, the fib Model Code for Concrete Structures, ACI 318-19 - Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete, and ACI562-19 - Code Requirements for Assessment, Repair, and Rehabilitation of Existing Concrete Structures.
