Ning (Tate) Cao Appointed as La Borde Chair

The College of Engineering is happy to welcome Ning (Tate) Cao as our newest faculty member in the School of Professional Development. Beginning Friday, March 1, Tate will assume the position of La Borde Chair in Engineering Entrepreneurship.

The La Borde Chair was created in 2007 with a generous donation from George La Borde to support the development and delivery of entrepreneurial courses with the College of Engineering.

In making this significant investment in the College of Engineering and establishing the La Borde Chair, Mr. La Borde described his vision as being to “assist the College of Engineering in the education, training and exposure of engineering students…to entrepreneurial principles and the entrepreneurial culture.”

Tate is a graduate of our college, having completed an MSc with Dr. Daniel Chen in biomedical engineering; Tate also holds an MBA from Edwards School of Business. Tate comes to the College of Engineering from his position as a Research Support Specialist in the Research Services and Ethics Office at the University of Saskatchewan.
