Biography

Behzad Nouri is an Associate Professor and the Siemens EDA Chair in Electronic Design Automation at the University of Saskatchewan. He holds M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carleton University.

Prior to his current appointment, Dr. Nouri served as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate and Adjunct Research Professor at Carleton University from 2014 to 2022. He also brings significant industry expertise to his academic role, having held early R&D positions in the telecommunications sector, followed by advanced engineering roles with the Circuit Simulation R&D teams at Cadence Design Systems (2022–2025) and Siemens EDA (2025–2026).

Professional Highlights and Awards

A registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), Dr. Nouri has authored over 32 refereed publications across IEEE journals, conferences, and book chapters. He is an active reviewer for several IEEE transactions and serves on multiple technical program committees.

His research and academic excellence have been recognized with numerous accolades, including:

  • University Gold Medal for outstanding doctoral research, Carleton University (2014)
  • Best Transactions Paper Award, IEEE Transactions on Components, Packaging and Manufacturing Technology (2013)
