Register for Classes
All students in the RE-ENGINEERED first-year program at the College of Engineering register for block classes, meaning you will register for one group, or block, of classes.
Registration Guide
Need help registering for your classes? Our RE-ENGINEERED Block Registration Guide walks you through each step, so you can register with confidence and start your USask Engineering journey on the right track.
RE-ENGINEERED Handbook

The USask Engineering RE-ENGINEERED Handbook is your go-to guide for everything you need to know as you begin your journey in first-year engineering — from course registration, weekly schedules, and academic supports to understanding the Flex option, competency-based assessment, and key policies. Explore topics like student accommodations, transfer credits, the Co-op Internship Program, and essential tools like Möbius and Canvas, all designed to set you up for success.
Flex Option
Need some extra time? Don't forget about the flex schedule option!
The flex schedule option (formerly known as the half-speed option) stretches first-year courses over two years. This option gives you more flexibility and time if you need more time for family, a job, sports or studying. You will still be considered a full-time student.
If you are a new student this year (2025-26) and wanting to enroll in the Flex Option, please submit the 2025-26 New Student Flex Schedule Registration Form and an academic advisor at the Engineering Student Centre will register you into the Flex option or your remaining first-year classes.

Register for UStart
UStart pre-orientation is a collection of virtual and in-person activities that happens in late May/early June.
Three reasons why you should attend UStart:
- We provide you with the information you need before you begin classes in fall
- It's a great chance to meet current engineering students, get advice and learn about things like USask's Engineering's Co-op Internship Program.
- We welcome you to USask Engineering and build excitement for fall classes!
Do the RE-ENGINEERED Jumpstarts
RE-ENGINEERED Jumpstarts are mandatory online quizzes and tutorials in Math, Physics, Chemistry, English and Indigenous Reconciliation, largely based on high school material. They will help you review concepts and material you will need to successfully start first-year engineering.
• The Jumpstarts will become available in August.
• You’ll have access to correct answers and tutorials, so you can top up your high school knowledge and skills if necessary; you won’t need your high school textbooks.
• Each set of quizzes will take one to two hours; you may take them more than once.
• An email will be sent to your PAWS account when the Jumpstarts are available.
• After classes begin in September, teaching assistants will be available to help if something has you stumped.
• Taking the Jumpstarts will give you experience with the university’s online learning systems, Canvas and Mobius.
