Engineering mentor has been awarded the APEGS Brian Eckel Distinguished Service Award
APEGS has awarded Louis-Pierre (L.P.) Gagnon with this year’s APEGS Brian Eckel Distinguished Service Award.
The award recognizes those in the engineering profession who have provided exceptional service to their community and have demonstrated outstanding achievement in the profession.
Gagnon has supported the College of Engineering and numerous other organizations through the years in addition to excelling in his career in the mining industry. He has mentored students in the College through fourth-year capstone design projects, aiding in designing and teaching a mine ventilation course, and continues to serve as an industry advisor for student groups.
He touches the lives of many and continues to inspire our students, faculty, and staff. The College of Engineering extends a warm congratulations to L.P. Gagnon for receiving this very prestigious honour.
