Dr. Maw is the Principal Investigator for Saskatchewan’s Cubesat project which is organized and partially funded by the Canadian Space Agency’s Canadian Cubesat Program.  Saskatchewan’s Cubesat, called RADSAT-SK, is a joint venture between the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatchewan Polytechnic, and the UofS Space Design Team.  The purpose of the project is to train young space scientists and engineers to develop and manage satellite design programs.  The primary payload for RADSAT-SK is a novel radiation detection device and an associated radiation shielding experiment.  RADSAT-SK is unique among all the 15 Canadian Cubesats in that it is the only Cubesat that is fully designed, built, tested, operated, and managed by students.  Also, the vast majority of our student team members are undergraduates.  Dr. Maw’s role is to provide financial and project management oversight, mentorship, and guidance, which he has been doing since December 2017.
