USask Engineering Professor Seok-Bum Ko Named IEEE CASS Distinguished Lecturer for 2024-2025
The College of Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan (USask) proudly celebrates the remarkable achievement of Dr. Seok-Bum Ko, professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, who has been named an IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (CASS) Distinguished Lecturer for 2024-2025.
This prestigious recognition by the global leader in electrical engineering honors Dr. Ko’s exceptional contributions to research in artificial intelligence (AI) compute acceleration, as well as his dedication to advancing the field through education and outreach.
Dr. Ko’s selection as a Distinguished Lecturer places him among an elite group of experts who are invited to share their cutting-edge research with academic institutions, industry leaders, and researchers worldwide. Over the next two years, he will represent USask Engineering on the global stage, delivering lectures on his pioneering work in digital circuits, systems-on-chip, and AI-driven hardware acceleration. His presentations will focus on the development of Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) and their applications in advanced computing, a subject that has broad implications for industries such as intelligent transportation system, agriculture, healthcare, and AI.
