Biography

Dr. Ahmed Hussain is an Assistant Professor at the College of Dentistry. He is a member of the Biomedical Engineering faculty and the College of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies at the University of Saskatchewan. He is also a member of the College of Dental Surgeons of Sasktchewan.

Dr. Hussain has a Bachelor Degree of Dental Science, Master’s Degree in prosthodontics, Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and Doctor of Medical Science degree (PhD) from Kyoto University in Japan. During his PhD he has developed two novel scaffolds for bone and cartilage regeneration.

Dr. Hussain's research interests include biomaterials, tissue engineering/regenerative medicine (bone and cartilage), micro/nanoparticles, growth factors slow release systems and mesenchymal stem cells. His research has been supported by the College of Dentistry and the University of Saskatchewan.
