Biography

Education and Experience

Dr. Emily McWalter joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan in January 2016.  She previously received her B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Queen’s University in 2002 and her M.A.Sc. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of British Columbia in 2004 and 2010, respectively.  She then spent five years at Stanford University, first as a Post-doctoral Fellow and then as a Research Associate in the Department of Radiology.  Dr. McWalter’s research program focuses on using novel, quantitative MRI techniques to understand knee joint and soft tissue function in degenerative diseases such as osteoarthritis.
